EMS Chief

Casey Ebrom, EMT-P, FP-C

Chief Ebrom began his service with the department in 2010 and has assisted the organization with its development into a career EMS system. As a graduate from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and an internationally board certified flight paramedic (FP-C), Chief Ebrom has experiences in both rural ground transport as well as helicopter critical care with Air Methods Corporation.

Along with having a publication in EMS World Magazine, Chief Ebrom has also speaks at multiple EMS conferences and symposiums regarding the improvement of clinical and operational standards in rural EMS systems.

Assistant EMS Chief

Derek Lappe, NRP, FP-C

Chief Lappe began his service with the department in 2019. In his previous role as an EMS Captain, he provided operational and clinical oversight to field personnel within the system. As a graduate from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and an internationally board certified flight paramedic (FP-C), Chief Lappe has experiences in both metropolitan, suburban and rural ground transport as well as helicopter critical care with Air-Evac Lifeteam.

Chief Lappe was awarded “EMS Leader of the Year” award from the Texas EMS Alliance (TEMSA)
